The Best of 2012!

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year's Eve!

2012 has been an amazing year and I definitely have had many highlights. Although there have been some rough and stressful times, it has ended on a high note.

I want to say a massive thank you to my lovely followers for all the support I have received for my blog. I started my blog mid year, and the past 6 months have really been amazing.

I now want to share with you my 2012 favourites to help round off the year. I have discovered some really great products, and am hoping 2013 will also bring in some new discoveries.

Makeup Favourites!
Max Factor Face Finity Foundation - This foundation provides amazing coverage but still sits light on the skin. It lasts all day, is really easy to apply and overall is a great foundation I discovered towards the later end of the year.
Smashbox Photofinish primer - I really great primer which makes my skin so smooth and silky. It helps control the oil and make my make up stay in place for longer.
Mac Extra Dimension Highlighter in "Whisper of Gilt" - A stunning gold shimmer highlighter which really does leave the high points of your face with an amazing shimmer. It looks beautiful in photos and I can see it lasting me for ages.
Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in "Sable Rose" - Only really towards the end of the year did I really get the hang of this bronzer. It leaves your skin with a lovely healthy glow without making your skin look like a disco ball.
Mac Fix + - This is definitely one of my very favourite products of the year. Without using this my make up feels unfinished. I love how refreshing it feels and how it makes your make up look more natural. I can see myself repurchasing this over and over again.
Benefit Badgal Mascara - Although just a sample, this mascara works really well for me. The formula is quite dry and so I find it easy to apply. It gives my lashes really good length and volume, and I'm still deciding whether or not to buy the full size!
Tarte 12-hour Clay Blush in "Exposed" - This colour is so beautiful on my fair skin as it really helps to warm it up. It lasts all day, and I love the fact it's matte.
Korres Lip Butter in "Jasmine" - I really nice lip butter that is very moisturising and leaves your lips very smooth. I am very tempted to purchase the more brighter colours of this lip butter!
NARS Blush in "Deep Throat" - This blush is so easy to apply and wear, and looks super pretty on the cheeks.
Bobbi Brown Corrector - Although I wasn't a massive fan of this product to begin with, as I got the hang of it and used it with my Collection's concealer, I started to feel like I couldn't live without it. I think it does make a difference to my under eye area, as it really helps to brighten and correct the blue/purple undertone.

Nail Polish Favourites!
Essie "Bahama Mama" - A really lovely colour for Autumn. It is the perfect plum colour which I find looks beautiful on any skintone.
OPI Bondettes Collection - Although I only got these 4 mini OPI colours for Christmas, they have rapidly become my all time favourites. The colours are stunning and nothing like what I have already. Also, the formulas are amazing and the mini bottles are super adorable.

Fragrance Favourites!
YSL Manifesto Perfume - Again I only got this perfume for Christmas, but I am already completely in love with it. The scent is quite sophisticated and classic but still quite sweet. I also love the packaging.
Victoria's Secret Angels Fragrance Mist - I love this as a daily perfume as the scent is girly and sweet yet still quite sophisticated.

So they wrap up my all time 2012 favourites!

I know that I haven't included any skincare, bodycare or haircare and that's only really because this year I don't think I have found anything that is truly a life changing product. I have however still found some really awesome products which I would recommend.
There are also other make up products and nail polishes which I still love, but it was so hard to condense them, and I had to think really carefully about what products I actually would repurchase and that I use most days.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, please leave any questions down below as I would be more than happy to answer!
Also leave a comment down below telling me what your 2012 favourites are.
A lot of the products shown I have done a review on so if you want you can check those out.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a great night tonight.
Happy New Year's Eve!

OPI Live and Let Die

Hi Everyone,
Happy Sunday!

This is another mini nail polish that is in the OPI Bondettes as part of the Skyfall collection. The colour I have on my nails as we speak is 'Live and Let Die' which is unlike what I already have.
It is a stunning dark forest green, verging on black, with gold, silver and teal shimmer. In daylight you can see the green, but in darker conditions the polish looks almost black.
It is a truly beautiful colour, and as a whole I am completely in love with the collection. The formulas are amazing, and look lovely on the nails.

Let me know if you have picked up any of the James Bond OPI collection, as I would love to hear what you think of it!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and thank you as ever for reading!

Christmas NOTD!

Merry Christmas!!
Yesterday was a wonderful day, and I hope everyone got to spend quality time with their family and friends, got to enjoy delicious food, and maybe get the odd present they had been hoping for :)

One of the presents I received was the OPI Bondettes collection which was released as part of their Skyfall collection. It contains 4 mini nail polishes from the collection and so yesterday I was super excited to paint my nails with one as they are just so gorgeous.
As it was Christmas day, I decided to go very festive with "The Spy Who Loved Me", which is a beautiful red with red shimmer, and then to spark it up, on my ring finger I used "GoldenEye", which is a stunning glittery gold.

I am obsessed with this collection but unfortunately most places are sold out. However, if you can get your hands on any of the OPI Skyfall collection, I would highly recommend it as the colours are stunning!

I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think.
Thank you for reading, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream!

Hi Everyone,
Merry Christmas Eve! I really hope you all have an amazing Christmas and get everything you wished for.
Now although this post isn't related to Christmas at all, I have been meaning to do it since the summer. During the summer I requested my sample of the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream and have been waiting for the right day to try it. I had heard mixed reviews about this BB cream and so was curious about trying it. The other day I finally had a good opportunity to try it and am hear to give you my verdict.

So the sample pack itself is great because you get 3 samples which means you can get quite a good idea of how much you like it. They send you the shade 'Light' which is the lightest shade. For me it looked quite orange when I first applied it, but because the coverage is sheer/light it blended into my skin well.

Maybelline claim this product does 8 things to you skin;
- Imperfections look blurred
- A natural looking glow
- Fresh feel
-Compliments skin tone
-Skin looks smooth
- Hydrates
-Protects with SPF 30
- Oil-free, non-greasy

So it has a lot to live up to, and to see how well it did, I am going to talk through each point and say whether or not I agree with it.

A quick before and after shot. The picture on the left is my skin with just moisturiser on. You can see I have a really bad breakout on my chin, and a couple of spots on my temple. I also have redness around my nose too. The picture on the right, although I have concealed under my eyes, powdered through the centre of my face and added blusher to my cheeks, you can still see the effect of the BB cream.

1. Imperfections look blurred
I have very bad breakouts around my t-zone and so for me, I was quite confident this claim wouldn't live up to expectations. But I was pleasantly quite surprised. Although this BB cream offers sheer/light coverage, it is buildable and so I did add more to the areas I wanted more coverage. It didn't completely cover up my blemishes, but then again a BB cream isn't really meant to offer full coverage. It did help though to reduce the redness and make them look less obvious, but I wouldn't rely on this for a night out or special occasion.

2. A natural looking glow
I have to 100% agree with this claim. Although you may not be able to see it quite so well in the picture because I did powder, this BB cream does leave you skin with a very healthy glow. It also didn't feel greasy or sticky though which was what was so great as well.

3. Fresh feel
I can't really say I noticed this quite so much. But because it felt very light then I guess it does feel fresh,

4. Compliments skin tone
I do sort of agree with this because it did compliment my natural skin tone. However, this BB cream only comes in 4 shades and so not everyone will find a perfect match. Then again BB creams and Tinted moisturises, because they usually offer light coverage, it means that there is some lean way when it comes to the right shade.

5. Skin looks smooth
Again, I do sort of agree with this because it did make my skin feel smooth which was pretty good considering it left my skin with a glow.

6. Hydrates
I have combination/oily skin and so I didn't notice this, however someone with drier skin my be able to notice if this hydrated their skin. But what I will say is that although this is meant to hydrate, I didn't notice it make my skin too oily too quickly.

7. Protects with SPF 30
Due to it being the middle of Winter, and being exceptionally cloudy and rainy, I can't say I noticed this. However, in summer and whenever it is sunny, having SPF 30 is brilliant as it will protect your skin.

8. Oil-free, non-greasy
Having combination skin, this factor is really important to me. When I first put it on, because of the glow it gave my skin, I did feel like this would slide off my face after a couple of hours. But with using a primer and powdering, this actually lasted for about 7-8 hours without making my face too oily, which was great.

Overall I am actually quite impressed with this BB cream. It left my skin with a nice finish and was easy to apply. Although this is not for me everyday because I do have bad breakouts, days when my skin is being good or days when in summer it is hot, I think this is a really great product. It also seems like it would suit most skin types which is also another excellent point.
This retails for £7.99 which I don't think is too bad. It is definitely one of the best BB creams I have tried, with Bobbi Brown's BB cream next to it.

I really hope you found this review helpful and please leave a comment down below as I love to see what you guys think.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas and hope you have super amazing days tomorrow.
Thank you,

In Stitches!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well. Today it is very wet and gloomy which is not the most festive weather, but I guess that's the Uk for you, and so with nothing better to do I decided to paint my nails.

I love this colour by Essie, "In Stitches', as it is a beautiful rosy dark red/pink colour which I think looks quite classic. I also think it is a good colour for Winter.

As with most Essie nail polishes, I find it really easy to apply, and although they are not the best at wearing, I still think they are fabulous nail polishes.

What nail polish are you currently loving?

I hope you enjoyed this post and please leave a comment down below.

Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well. After receiving this Rimmel Stay Glossy lipgloss in the colour 'Orange your Life' in a goodie bag at the Clothes Show, I thought I would do a quick review for you.

I'm not a big lipgloss wearer, and was quite apprehensive due to the bright orange gloss in the tube, but as you can see the colour is very sheer.

The Rimmel website claim that this product lasts for up to 6 hours, leave your lips super glossy and also moisturise them at the same time.

On me this gloss does not show up in colour what so ever, however it does leave a glossy finish which is not too sticky. I like the applicator as it applies the gloss very well due to it being almost flexible.
I wouldn't say this gloss lasts for up to 6 hours, but with eating and drinking I would say it lasts about 3 hours which is still pretty good.
The only thing I don't like about this product is the smell. It is just very off-putting and I find myself holding my nose when applying it.

The Rimmel Stay Glossy lip glosses retail for £6.29 and there are 11 available shades.
I probably wouldn't purchase a colour for myself, only because I prefer wearing tinted balms or lipsticks. But if you're in the market for a lip gloss then I would highly recommend these.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Please leave a comment down below as I love to read your comments.

Recent Purchases!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well today! With Christmas rapidly approaching, my mum and I decided to do some Christmas shopping yesterday. Luckily we managed to get everything sorted whilst getting a few purchases for ourselves :)
Although I didn't get this yesterday I thought I would include it in this haul. When at the Clothes Show a week ago, I saw a stand for Regal Rose which is an online jewellery shop, and after hearing about it so much from Sammi off Youtube I just had to make a purchase. So I saw this dainty necklace made out of little crosses which I thought was really nice. I have been loving wearing this necklace and am super happy I bought it.
Now onto the purchases from yesterday. First is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, which is an anti-acne moisturiser. I had heard a lot of really amazing reviews about this so am hoping to see some good results. I have only used this twice, but I will be doing a full review in the next few weeks.
After running out of my St Ives Body scrub I decided to pick up a Soap and Glory one. The one I went for was the Scrub of your Life which I haven't heard as much about as the Breakfast scrub or Sugar Crush. However, I am pretty sure this scrub will be really good and so am looking forward to using it properly.
The last purchase is this bag from Topshop. I haven't used this yet which is why all the labelling and wrappers are still on so please excuse that. But I fell in love with this as I think the gold hardware and stud detailing is so nice and I find it to be not too small but not too big :)

So that is it for my haul, I really hope you guys enjoyed it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo!

Hi Everyone,
Hope we are all well. Today I want to do a quick review on the Batiste dry shampoo in the tropical kind. I got this in the Cosmopolitan goodie bag at the Clothes Show Live and so it is only a mini size, but nonetheless I was still really excited about trying it.

This product claims to;

"Instantly revatilises hair. Banishes oily roots, boosts body and leaves hair feeling clean and fresh"

This was actually my first time trying dry shampoo and so I was a bit skeptical about whether it would actually work.
So, on the 3rd day after washing I put my hair into a ponytail but before I did so I sprayed some of this onto my roots to take away the oil and to give my hair more volume, and it really helped.
It helps to refresh your hair and take away a lot of the oil, making it look cleaner. I also adore the smell; very coconuty and tropical, which adds to the fresh feeling.

You do have to be careful though when spraying it onto your hair as it can leave a grey cast, so you have to make sure you rub it in.

Overall I am really impressed with this product, it really helps when my hair is in need of a boost. I would highly recommend this product and I know my Mum has also been loving it as she bought the same goodie bag :)

I hope you enjoyed this review, please leave a comment down below as I love reading any comments you guys leave.

November Favourites!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Monday!

I wanted to share with you guys today the products I have been loving throughout the month of November. There are a couple of items I have re-discovered and a couple that I have only just discovered, so with that said lets crack on!

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder & Real Techniques Powder Brush
I got this bronzer during summer and have always thought it was beautiful, but I never had the right way of applying it. I had been using the Real Techniques blush brush but recently I started using that for powder. So I then started using the powder brush to apply the bronzer beneath my cheekbones, around my temples and along my jaw line, and I think it does a great job. It really helps to add a sun-kissed look to the skin, and using the big brush makes it look less obvious. It is also the perfect Winter 'pick-me up' for my skin.

Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation
I got this foundation a week or so ago and featured it in a recent haul (click HERE). I have been using it most days since I got it and although I will be doing a review soon, I will say that it provides great coverage yet smoothes out your skin and still feels really lightweight. I absolutely love it!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Crush'
Another recent purchase which I included in the same haul and because I have just done a review on it (click HERE for that) I won't say too much about it. The colour is beautiful and I find them to be quite moisturising. They are easy to apply and last a good while on the lips. A very good purchase indeed!

So that's it for my November favourites, I'm sorry there aren't that many products.
Let me know what your favourites are down below as I love hearing what you guys think :)
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post,

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - "Crush"

Hi Everyone,
Happy Monday!
After seeing many good reviews about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains I was very curious indeed. I had also been wanting a darker lip colour for Autumn and Winter, and so after swatching the colour "Crush" in a Boots I knew I had to have it.

The packaging is quite nice, I like how the colour of the product is the colour of the packaging as it makes it super easy to pick it out of your make up drawer or bag etc. They are very much like the Clinique Chubby Sticks but as I have never tried of those I can't really compare the two.

The colour "005 Crush" is a dark plum/pink colour. You can really build this colour up or have it quite sheer, so it is perfect for those who don't want a super intense colour.

The Boots website describes this product as;

"Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood
Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturizing Balm
100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized with a soft stain of colour
Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required"
So they claim this product to be moisturising yet stain your lips, and I have to say I do mostly agree with this.
Please excuse the weird shine on my nose and cupids bow, must be the lighting!
I do use lip balm before I apply any lip products just because I prefer the feel of it on my lips. But as you can see, although the picture has slightly washed out the colour, the product has given a nice pop of colour to my lips, and is nice and moisturising.
When you first apply the product, it does have a minty smell which I am not keen on. However, once the product is one your lips you can't detect it.

I did re-apply the product several times throughout the day, just to add some moistness seeing as the weather is so cold now. I did find though that because it stains your lips, the colour actually intensifies throughout the day the more you re-apply it. I also found it did get quite patchy in some areas. In the centre of my lips there were some quite dark patches compared to other parts where it was lighter, which was pretty annoying. But I guess it is just a matter of getting used to it and getting used to the best way of applying it.

I paid £7.99 which I think is ok as I can see the product lasting quite a while.
Overall I am pleased with the balm stain. I think the colour is very pretty when applied, although I am going to have to get to grips with the best way of using it. I found it to be moisturising like what they claim which I love for Winter.
I do want to try the colour 'Honey" as it looks like a more daytime colour, and overall I would recommend these as a product.

I hope you enjoyed this review, please leave a comment down below as I love hearing what you guys think.
Thank you for reading and I will see your soon,

Topshop and Mini Beauty Haul!

Hi Everyone,
If you saw my Topshop wishlist, you will know that I have been obsessing over Topshop lately, and so I have made some guilty purchases over the last month or so.  Yesterday I also got a couple of beauty items which I thought I would throw in at the end.

First of all are these studded flats which I got a week or so ago. I fell in love with these and am super excited about them. I think they will look really nice with simple black leggings.
Next up is this burgundy snood (which are officially the hardest things to photograph). I got this whilst in London and have been wearing it non-stop ever since. Because I am wearing it whilst writing this, I can easily confirm it is super warm and snuggly!
Lastly from Topshop is this basic tee. It is white with grey speckles and over-sized. I like wearing this on its own with leggings, or recently I wore it under my coral blazer and it actually went quite well.
Onto beauty items. First up is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains is 'Crush'. My mum actually only picked this up yesterday for me so I haven't had a proper chance to wear it, so I am really excited to trying it out soon.
Lastly is again a product my mum picked up for me yesterday, it is the new Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Flawless foundation. I only tried this today so I can't give you a full opinion yet, but so far so good.

That is it for my Topshop and mini beauty haul. I really hope you enjoyed this post and please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think.
