Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well! On Saturday, my Mum and I enjoyed a lovely day shopping for my 16th which is in the next few days, and whilst there I treated myself to a couple of new items, my excuse being "Well, it is my birthday!".

So whilst looking around John Lewis, the new Rouge Eclat lipsticks from Clarins caught my eye. I had never even looked at Clarins before, but the beautiful array of colours meant I couldn't resist! The lady at the counter was super friendly and really helpful. I told her I like everyday nude/pink colours, and she recommend me the colour '01 Nude Rose', which is a really pretty 'your lips but better colour', and perfect for everyday.
Clarins claim the lipsticks will "protect lips against dehydration and boost collagen, Vitamin E protects against free radicals and 100% plant waxes provide instant comfort" which is thanks to the "Nutri-Youth Complex".

I can't really say I have noticed the 'boost collagen' claim, but I'm sure they do. However, I do agree that the lipsticks provide instant comfort. They are very creamy and moisturising on the lips, which is really nice especially in this cold and windy weather. They provide a really nice pop of colour, and compared to other moisturising lipsticks, they last a good few hours.
I also think the packaging is gorgeous, and the lipsticks themselves apply really well.

Compared to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks which are a similar type of product (review HERE), I would definitely recommend the Clarins more. Not only are they a few pounds cheaper, with the Clarins at £18.50 and the Chanel at £23, they last longer and are way more hydrating. The colour I have in the Chanel is 'Boy' which is very similar to 'Nude Rose'.

Overall I am really loving this product, and am sort of tempted to go back because they had  some stunning colours! However, I shall refrain as they aren't the cheapest at £18 each.
Let me know if you too have tried these lipsticks and what you think of them!

I hope you have a great week, and thank you so much for reading,

The BEST Exfoliator!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! I have been on the hunt for a good face exfoliator for the longest time. All the exfoliators I have tried have either not done anything to my skin or were too harsh on my skin, and none have ever helped clear my skin.
However, a few weeks ago in Boots, my Mum had a £5 off No7 voucher which she very kindly gave to me, and as I love the cleanser from the same range, I decided to buy the No7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator. With the voucher the exfoliator only costed me £3, so I thought I might as well try it!

No7 claim this will 'clear away dead skin cells and impurities, to reveal beautifully clear skin. This fresh exfoliator deeply cleanses, purifies and helps unblock pores. Leaves skin smooth, refined and glowing with health'.

It had quite a lot to live up to, but I am super happy to say that I agree with everything above!

I use this exfoliator 2-3 times a week as I have blocked pores, breakouts and oily skin.
Although this has not 100% cleared my skin, I do think this has improved the overall look and health.

It has helped to unblock the pores around my nose and reduce them in size. I also find the day after using this my spots appear reduced in size and less visible.
I find this product to be quite harsh but not to the point I feel it's damaging my skin - it just feels like all the horribleness has been lifted and taken out of my skin.

Overall I would highly recommend this exfoliator, especially if you have breakouts or oily skin. For £8 (£3 if they're running the £5 off vouchers), I do think it is worth it and I will definitely be re-purchasing this in the future.

Let me know if you have tried this product too!

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful. Please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well and have had a great week!

Today I wanted to talk about the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. I picked this up a month or so ago after hearing amazing reviews of how this has really helped to clear people's skin, and due to suffering from pretty bad breakouts on my t-zone I thought I would give it a try.

La Roche Posay claim that this product will help unclog pores and purify to "help reduce the development of future breakouts" and help to "reduce skin imperfections, leaving skin looking clearer and feeling smoother".

So I did have pretty high expectations, especially as the product is £9.99 and from a really good brand.

However, I am really sad to say that I am so disappointed with this product.

It's not that I dislike the product and that it has made my skin even worse, it's just that it has made no difference what so ever.
My skin still has bad breakouts on the t-zone and I don't think my pores are any more unclogged.
That said though my skin isn't worse.

I do still use this morning and evening as an all-over moisturiser, and what I do like about this is that it leaves your skin smooth and mattified, but at the same time with a healthy glow. It doesn't leave my skin tight like some mattifying moisturises do, but it still does take away that oily feeling.
But, I do want to mention the smell because at first I thought the scent was disgusting, almost like insect repellant that you use on holiday. However, after using it for quite a while I have gotten used to it and find it is no longer quite so pungent.

Overall, I would still recommend this product because it is a good moisturiser. Although it didn't work for me, it could still work for you.
I won't be repurchasing it in the future but I am still happy I tried it. I also would still try more La Roche-Posay products, because despite this product not working, I don't see why other products wouldn't.

Let me know if you have tried this product too and what you thought of it.
Also please let me know if there are any other good products from them, or a different brand, that you recommend for spot-prone skin!

I hope you found this review helpful, and thank you for reading,

Max Factor Face Finity Foundation!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well today! After battling with an exam and the snow today, I am happy to be able to sit down and finally do review on the Max Factor Face Finity foundation.

This a relatively new foundation but I got mine November/December time of last year (I bought it for £11.99 however there is a current offer in Boots where it is £8.99!)
I have worn it a lot since then and am really pleased to tell you that I LOVE it!
This foundation claims to be a '3 in 1', so act like a primer, concealer and foundation. I personally still wear primer around my nose with this because otherwise I find on my skin it can go weird around the pores which isn't very attractive. I have also used it as a concealer as well for under the eye and I think it works really well, however on a daily basis I like to stick with my Bobbi Brown corrector and Collection Lasting Perfection concealer combo.

The foundation claims to have a matte finish with a full coverage. It also claims the foundation has micro-correctors which 'defend against external influencers like sweat and sebum, correcting and maintaining the look over time whilst preventing shine'.
This photo was taken about 8 hours after I applied the foundation for school, and as you can see it has stayed reasonably put. I did though set it with powder and apply concealer under my eyes, and blush.

I do get oily around the t-zone and so after a full day out or at school I find with most foundations my t-zone to be pretty oily. However, because this foundation does offer a matte finish, I find my skin does not get oily at all.
It is definitely a medium-full coverage foundation which may not be for everyone. However, because I suffer from bad breakouts around my t-zone, it works very well for me.
Although this foundation is full coverage, it is still really lightweight. I find it smoothes out my skin but doesn't feel like I have caked my face with make up.
The colour I have is 'Light Ivory 40', which is the lightest shade, but luckily I find it to be quite a good match (for reference I am NC15 in Mac and B10 in the YSl Touche Eclat foundation ).

The downside though I would say is that you have to work quickly being a matte finish. The product sets really fast and so when you apply the foundation (I like using the Real Techniques Buffing or Stippling brush) it tends to stick to the area you have applied it to and not really blend out. But what I do is apply the majority around the t-zone area, and then whatever is left work into the rest of my face.

Overall I do really recommend this foundation for people who have normal - oily skin types and want a good coverage foundation. It does have SPF 20 but I still find it looks good in photos.

Let me know what you think of this foundation if you have tried it too!

I hope this review was helpful, and thank you for reading,

Soap and Glory The Scrub of Your Life!

Hi Everyone,
After hearing many amazing things about Soap and Glory's body scrubs, I had always really wanted one. The Sugar Crush and Breakfast Scrub have remained very popular, but I have never been that keen on either scent. So I decided several weeks ago to pick up the Scrub of Your Life, and I am happy to say I am very pleased with it!

The scrub itself is a clear(ish) gel with little pink micro beads in it. What I think makes this different is that when you begin to use it on your skin, it lathers quite significantly, meaning you could use this as a 2in1 body scrub and wash. The scrub isn't too harsh either but still leaves your skin soft and smooth.
The scent is more perfumed but is really nice nonetheless.

Like all S&G products, I love the packaging. I just think it is really cute and fun, and really attractive.
The scrub retails for £7 which I think is a tad expensive but I can see this lasting me a while.

Let me know if you have tried this product, or what you would recommend from S&G as I have loved their products I have previously tried.
I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful.

Mini Topshop Haul!

Hi Everyone,
Hope we are all well today!
For Christmas, my Brother very kindly gave me a topshop voucher and so I thought I would treat myself to some items. As you all know I love Topshop and so was super excited to get some new pieces!
First I got this necklace which I thought was really quite different. I love how it has both silver and gold, and the chain is quite chunky. I like wearing this with jumpers as it adds a statement to something which was originally quite plain.
Next is this jumper and I'm sorry for the picture as it really doesn't do it justice! It is a plum/burgundy colour which I love, and it has grey stitching running through it. It has 3/4 length sleeves and is quite oversized. I love this jumper as it is so soft and warm and I love wearing it with my new necklace!
Lastly is a really basic item which again I am sorry looks so odd in the picture. It is a black skater skirt which is definitely going to be a stable for me. I love tucking oversized t-shirts or jumpers in and then wearing it with tights and either my ankle boots or grey converse. Plus it was only £16 which I think is pretty good as I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it.

So that is it for my mini Topshop haul! Let me know if you have bought anything recently which you love too!
I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading,

Yves Saint Laurnet Manifesto!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week. I am sorry for my lack of postings recently but with exams and coursework I do find it hard to make time.

But I am here today because I have been obsessing over the new YSL Manifesto perfume. It is their relatively new fragrance which I have had my eye on since it came out. I was fortunate enough to receive this for Christmas which I was very thank full for as it is such a beautiful perfume.

First of all is the packaging. I think it is so nice as it looks quite chic and sophisticated. I love the band of purple and the shape of the bottle. I also think the lid is really cool as it is engraved!
The scent I also love too. It is quite pungent, but is still quite sweet and floral whilst also being really classy. I think you could wear it day and night and has no real age bracket that it is aimed at. I would urge you to have a spray of this if you are near a YSL counter as it is a really gorgeous fragrance.

Let me know what you think of this perfume, or just leave a comment down below as I love to read what you guys think!

OPI The World is Not Enough!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you have all enjoyed the first week of 2013!

A few days ago I painted my nails with my last mini colour from the OPI Bondettes collection - "The World is Not Enough".
As you know I am completely obsessed with this collection and if you have seen my previous posts you can see just how stunning and unique the colours are.
Like I said in those posts, the colour is gorgeous! I would describe it as I taupe/bronze silver  with a multitude of different coloured shimmers.

The formula for this I don't think is the best out of the four as it is quite sheer and so needs 2-3 coats for it to be opaque. However once you have built it up it is stunning!

Let me know if you have picked up any of the colours from the OPI Skyfall collection.

I hope you enjoyed this post and please leave a comment down below!
