August Favourites!

With Autumn at our doorstep I wanted to share with you my August favourites.
A really awesome month that went just that bit too quickly, nether the less I have some oldies that I have rediscovered and also some newbies that I just can't get enough of.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 01
After a lot of hype I thought it was time to pick up the Body Shop bronzer. I love the packaging as it reminds of honeycomb which I think is so cute. The bronzer itself is amazing, the right amount of warm and cool tones so it is very natural and helps add colour without looking too orange. You can build it up which I think is really good and it lasts really well. A perfect bronzer for those with fair skin.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blusher in Radiant Magenta
Again, another hyped up product but I could no longer resist. Radiant Magenta is a gorgeous pink blush with a swirl of bronze in it so it adds a lot of colour and warmth to the complexion. It also lasts so well and is really easy to apply. And have I mentioned the gorgeous packaging?

Nails inc. Porchester Square
I have had this nail polish for some time but recently I have been gravitating towards it a lot more. I prefer only doing one coat of this polish because I prefer the colour to be quite sheer. I love the nude/lilac colour as it suits so many people and looks gorgeous all year round.

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya
This lip butter never fails me. It is so nice. I love the glossy, moisturising finish and the coral/pink colour is so beautiful and easy to wear, particularly in the summer months. This is a lip product I will forever repurchase.

So they are the products I have been loving throughout August.
Let me know what products you have been loving throughout last month!

Makeup Forever HD Foundation | The Classic

For years now I have heard rave reviews about the Makeup Forever HD Foundation, and so whilst in Italy and a 5 minute walk away from a Sephora I thought I would finally give it a go.
I had high expectations about this foundation, but luckily it hasn't disappointed.

I bought this foundation in the shade 115 Ivory which I find to be an exact match for my skin. I don't own any other foundation that perfectly matches my skin, so this already gave the MUFE foundation a big thumbs up.
I find it to be a medium consistency, not too thick but not too runny. This makes the foundation really easy and quick to blend into the skin.
The finish is very natural. It looks like skin. This is my favourite type of finish as it just looks undetectable which is perfect for everyday. It gives a light to medium coverage, helping to even everything out.
I also find this foundation to look really nice in photographs which is the main purpose of this foundation. It makes your skin look very smooth and even without masking it or looking cakey.
The lasting power of this foundation is okay as it lasts about 6 hours or so before I begin to look oily. However, I am sure this could be improved with a good primer and setting powder.

Overall I am super impressed with this foundation. The colour match is perfect and it has the right finish and amount of coverage. The lasting power does let it down slightly, however I am sure this could be overcome.

Have you tried the Makeup Forever HD Foundation?

July Favourites!

After several days with no internet I am finally showing you guys my July favourites.
I have been able to pick up some really awesome products that I can't wait to share with you.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation
I picked up the very popular MUFE HD Foundation whilst in Italy as you can't really buy the brand in the UK. I had heard so many positive reviews about this foundation and luckily it did not disappoint. It gives a natural medium coverage so evens everything out without masking your skin. The colour is perfect and I think it photographs really well. If you can get your hands on this foundation, I highly recommend you to pick it up.

Essie Nail Polish in Too Taboo
I couldn't resist this gorgeous bright fuschia pink when I saw it and as Essie is one of my favourite nail polish brands I just had to pick it up. I love the colour for spring and summer and the formula is awesome. I spoke more about this nail polish here.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
I was in need of a new mascara and so on a bit of a whim I picked up Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. This has seriously exceeded my expectations. I love it!
It gives a good amount of volume and length that is perfect for day time, but it can also be built it up for a more dramatic look. It isn't clumpy and it doesn't make your lashes look spidery, and I also believe it has made my lashes grow! To see how it looks, I did a full review here.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in 'Audacious'
I absolutely love the colour of this lip crayon as it is a bright coral so again is perfect for the time of year. It adds a pop of colour and really helps to brighten your makeup look. The formula is awesome as it has a matte finish that isn't too drying on the lips. It also lasts really well and creates an almost stain on your lip.

Sephora Professional Contour Brush
Although this is supposed to be a contour brush, I actually picked this brush up because I thought it would be perfect for applying foundation. It is really dense and has quite short natural brush hairs which means that it really buffs in foundation to give a flawless finish. I really love using this with the Makeup Forever foundation as it gives a very even finish. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a new foundation brush.

So they are my July favourites...better late than never!
Tell me what your favourite products have been recently in the comments down below and I hope you enjoyed this post.

Essie Too Taboo | The Fuchsia Pink

When I saw Essie's Too Taboo, I just could not resist. It is gorgeous!
It is an amazing bright fuchsia pink which I absolutely love. Perfect for spring and summer but to be honest I would wear this all year round because I think it is that gorgeous.
Essie is one of my favourite nail polish brands as the formula is awesome, and this one is no exception. A super wide, thick brush means application is quick and easy, and a very opaque formula means you can get away with just one coat of this shade.
It dries quickly and lasts well, especially when it is paired with the Seche Vite top coat which is one of the best I have tried.

Let me know if you have Essie's Too Taboo nail polish and what you think of it!

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm | Audacious

After hearing a lot of hype about the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms I just had to pick one up. Finally I decided on the shade Audacious, a gorgeous bright orange coral shade that is just so suiting for this time of year. I love wearing this shade with a simple makeup look and outfit as it adds a pop of colour and brightens everything up.

I was a little dubious about it being a matte balm incase it was a very drying formula. Fortunately this lip crayon does have a matte finish whilst also being very creamy and moisturising which means no dry patches appear.
This also means it is very comfortable on the lips and is easy to layer when you reapply it.
Although, because of the matte formula it lasts a really long time on the lips which is awesome. It also has an almost staining affect, so even after you eat there is still an orange/coral stain on your lips.

Overall I am head over heels in love with this lip crayon. It is awesome.
I love the bright orange colour and the formula is great if like me you like the sound of a matte finish but also want it to be creamy and moisturising.

I would definitely pick up more shades of the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm, and I would highly recommend you to pick one up too.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara | The Mascara That Actually Grows Your Lashes

I never thought a mascara would actually improve the appearance of my lashes, until a few weeks after I started using the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara I noticed that my eyelashes looked longer and fuller. Just let me explain...

I bought the Revlon mascara on a bit of a whim, not expecting it to do anything to my lashes except make them look longer and fuller after a couple of coats.
The later part of that is true. I love the look this mascara gives my lashes after I use it. Longer with a lot more volume and nicely defined with NO clumps. Hallelujah!
It also lasts well throughout the day and is easy enough to remove in the evening.
I also love the brush head as it is very simple and basic but still coats the upper and lower lashes with ease.
However, I have also noticed that my lashes look longer and seem more healthy after a few weeks of using this mascara. Now, I don't mean inches or even centimetres longer. In fact, I think not many people would notice anything different, but I definitely can. Even if they aren't necessarily longer by length, they just seem a lot better looking and have a bit more oomph.
It's crazy, I know, but I do feel that this mascara has made my lashes longer and look just that bit better even without mascara.
Aside from that, it is also a very good mascara that I love using on a daily basis and one that I will definitely continue to repurchase.

Have you ever tried the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara?

Summer Evening Makeup | Warm Eyes and Glossy Lips

 Hello everyone,
Carrying on from my Summer Evening Outfit post, I wanted to share with you a makeup look that I wore quite a bit whilst I was away. I really love the soft smokey eyes with the slightly bright pink lips as I think it is a really nice look for warm weather.

Because the weather was so warm and sunny, I didn't really wear foundation except for in the evenings where I wore a very small amount in the areas I felt like I wanted more coverage.
I took a tiny amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage foundation along my t-zone as my skin had been going quite crazy with breakouts.
I then concealed my dark circles with the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, and set everything with a small amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation as this adds a bit more coverage without looking or feeling heavy on the skin.
I warmed up my face using the NARS Laguna bronzer and added a pop of colour to my cheeks using the NARS Deep Throat blusher.
For my eyes I used the Clinique All About Shadow Neutral Territory palette which is a new eyeshadow palette of mine. Unfortunately the shadows don't really have names, but I used the two light champagne shadows all over the lid as a base. I then took the warm, reddish brown shade in the crease, and to define the eye and make it a touch more smokey, I used the hazy purple/brown shade. Finally for eyeliner I took the darkest eyeshadow in the palette which is a dark brown with a hint of purple along the lower and upper lash line.
To finish the eyes I used coatings of the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara which has become a favourite of mine.
Lastly, to finish the makeup look, I used the Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayon in Peach on the Beach which is a gorgeous glossy, bright pink.

So that was my go-to Summer evening makeup look.
I have been loving the Clinique eyeshadow palette as all of the shades are very different and create really beautiful looks. And the Bourjois lip crayon is perfect for summer, as it is glossy and gives a pop of colour to any look.

I hope you enjoyed this post,

A Summer Evening Outfit | Checked with a Splash of Pink

Top - Mango
Skort - Topshop
Clutch - Michael Kors
Sandales - H&M
Watch - Michael Kors
Necklaces - Gold triangle was a present and the other was from a small shop in Garda

Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to share with you an outfit I wore quite a bit whilst I was away.
I saw this skort from Topshop a while back when Sammi did an amazing outfit post. I fell in love with it and knew I had to have it and I am so glad I picked it up as it is so versatile and is very flattering when on. My black top from Mango is such a staple for me I have it in 3 colours!
I liked pairing the monochrome outfit with pink accessories to make it a touch more summery and bright. The clutch is the one is received for my birthday a couple of years ago. I love it as it just brightens up any outfit and is the perfect size for a night out. I then matched it with my lipstick which is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong which you guys know I love. I did a post here if you want to find out more about it.

Let me know what you think of this outfit down below!

A Picturesque Holiday | Lake Garda and Venice

Hello everyone,
After quite a long time I am finally back in the swing of blogging!
I have just got back from a holiday in Lake Garda and Venice and so I am feeling refreshed and recharged. I really wanted to share with you some of the many photos I took from the holiday as I couldn't help but fall in love with both Lake Garda and Venice!
I feel very grateful I was able to go to such beautiful parts of the world and if you are thinking about going to either place, I cannot recommend them enough for a holiday away.
Both places were very hot but at the same time amazing. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Perfect Weather by the Lake

The main shopping street in Verona..of course I found the Sephora!
My favourite part about Venice were the very cute streets filled with Gondolas!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong | The Bright Lip

 Hello everyone,
My pink obsession recently grew even bigger when I found the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong, which has quickly become one of my favourite discoveries of the year. Yes, it really is that good!

Bourjois recently launched their new liquid lipsticks in eight shades, but the bright neon pink with the very cute name of Pink Pong stood out to me as a winner.
Now, this shade is bright, neon bright. But I love it! It is definitely a statement, but paired with a simple makeup look and a simple outfit it looks amazing. I think it would suit so many skintones as although it is bright, I imagine it to be quite universal.
The formula of this is also worth a mention - it is awesome. As one who has relatively dry lips, I always stay away from 'matte' lip products. However, this really isn't that drying considering how matte it is. I always apply a lip balm before any lip product as this helps to keep my lip hydrated, but apart from maybe one or two top ups of lip balm throughout the day, the Bourjois Rouge Edition really doesn't dry out my lips.
This product also lasts a very long time. It tends to wear off on the inside of my lips after about 4 hours so you're left with an outline of bright pink, but to save it I reapply my lip balm and add another coat of the product and it looks perfect again. It layers really well so you're not left with anything patchy or streaky by the end of the night.

Overall the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong is an excellent product if you want a vibrant matte liquid lipstick that lasts for a very long time.
Some of the other bright colours also look awesome and for £8.99, I definitely think they're worth a try!

Have you tried any of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet's?

Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser | The Morning Cleanser

Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to share with you my current favourite cleanser that I have been using in the mornings.
The new Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser caught my eye as soon as it was released last month. I thought it would help wake my skin up in the mornings as I am definitely not a morning person.

The Origins scrub is a bright orange gel cleanser that has small micro beads in it that help exfoliate and refresh the skin. Although it is branded as a 'scrub', it does not feel harsh on the skin nor does it dry it out. For my combination skin, it is perfect for everyday as it gently exfoliates my skin leaving it smooth without drying it out.
I also find my moisturiser sinks in quicker and is more effective as the Origins cleanser helps to remove dead skin cells and clear my skin.
I particularly love the scent of the cleanser as it smells like oranges which is the perfect wake up call in the morning!

Let me know if you've tried the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser and what you think of it!

Mac Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Lorelei | Alluring Aquatic

 Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to share with you a super pretty eyeshadow from the Mac Alluring Aquatic Collection which came out I think around April.
Whilst I was out shopping with my friends, the Extra Dimension eyeshadow in Lorelei particularly caught my eye as it looked like the perfect everyday, shimmery eyeshadow.

The packaging immediately caught my eye when I saw this shadow - a beautiful turquoise which almost looks like it's been dropped in water as the packaging has water-like droplets over it.
As with all Extra Dimension products from Mac, the shadow is super shimmery and beautiful. The shade is a bronzy copper colour which I think is so nice for all year. The colour looked a lot warmer when I applied it to my lids, which I was surprised about as when I had swatched it in-store it did look quite cool-toned, however, nonetheless I still think it is beautiful.
As the shadow is very shimmery, I find it best to apply it with a flat shader brush as you can really pack it on, then blend it out with a clean fluffy brush. If I want it to look extra pigmented and vibrant, I like to slightly dampen my brush to give the shadow an extra oomph!
I find the shadow lasts a good 6 hours without a primer, but I do think a primer would be quite good as not only would it make the shadow last longer, but it may also help make the pigment stand out even more.

Overall I think Lorelei is a gorgeous colour and I love the formula of the Mac Extra Dimension eyeshadows as they're so shimmery yet have a nice soft, creamy texture.
The colour creates a beautiful, warm eye look that I particularly love during the warmer seasons!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | THE Makeup Remover

Hello everyone,
After recently finishing my stash of Bioderma I really wanted to try a drugstore Micellar water as they have been getting a lot of hype recently. I opted for Garnier's edition of the infamous Micellar cleansing waters in the hope I would not be disappointed.

I am super excited to say that this cleansing water has exceeded my expectations. It is AMAZING!
Like Bioderma, it looks and feels like water so when you remove your makeup, it feels like you're removing it with water. I feels so gentle on the skin and it doesn't irritate my eyes. I like to squeeze a small amount onto 2 cotton pads, and within 30 seconds my whole face of makeup (including eye makeup) has disappeared. It works like magic!
I don't know what Garnier have done to this cleansing water, but whatever it is it's amazing. It so effortlessly removes all of my makeup without leaving my skin too dry or oily, meaning it would be great for sensitive skin.
I am so impressed with it, I actually look forward to removing my makeup when I get home from a long day because I know it will do it so quickly and easily.
If you can't get hold of Bioderma, or if you want a highstreet equivalent, get the Garnier Micellar Water because it is by far one of the best makeup removers I have ever used! (And that is a pretty big statement!)

I picked mine up at Boots, where it is usually £4.99 for a 200ml bottle but it is currently on offer for only £3.99. Get it whilst you can!

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm | An Awesome Lip Balm

Hello everyone,
As someone who frequently has dry lips, especially during the colder months, I have always been on the look out for an intensive moisturising lip balm. This is where the Nuxe Reve De Miel comes in.
I had heard so much about this lip balm and so I decided to give it a go to see if it could help my dry lips, and I am glad to report it lived up to my high expectations.

The Nuxe lip balm is completely different to any other lip balms I've tried.
It is very thick and smooth, and when you apply it it leaves a thick layer on your lips. Although this feels slightly odd at first, when you apply it in the evening you wake up with super soft lips that are hydrated and smooth. It is amazing!
The finish is almost matte so you can't really tell you're wearing this lip balm, and the scent is divine - honey and lemon!
For me, the Nuxe lip balm is an evening and night time lip balm as it is so thick and moisturising. It has definitely helped make my lips smoother and softer and it has banished those dry patches I used to have, which is why I will continue to love and repurchase this lip balm.

Let me know if you have tried the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm and what you think of it!
