Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | THE Mascara

After hearing such good things about the new Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, I was desperate to try it out for myself.
I am always on the look out for new mascaras since my lashes are quite pathetic. I love long, voluminous lashes and so I was hoping the Lash Sensational mascara would deliver.

Fortunately, this mascara has exceeded my expectations, it is so amazing!
It is so easy to build up and it makes your lashes so long and voluminous but without clumping them together or making them look spidery. It fans out your lashes really well and because of the curved shaped wand, it gets to every single lash.
I can honestly say I have never used such a good mascara that makes my lashes look better than ever.

If you can pick this mascara up, DO! I cannot recommend it enough.

Have you used the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara?

Spring Makeup | Easter Weekend

I hope that you are all having a wonderful Easter weekend, and with the sun shining, I thought I would share with you the makeup I am wearing today.
It is super simple and easy yet light and fresh for spring and this Easter day.

For the base, I used the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer under my eyes and the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation around my nose and on any blemishes. I also used the L'Oreal Lumi Magique concealer under my eyes in an upside triangle to highlight and brighten the face.
To set that, I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation which not only sets the makeup but adds a touch more coverage.
To warm up the skin, I took the Body Shop Honey Bronzer as always and for a pop of colour, I used the NARS blush in Deep Throat.
I didn't use any eyeshadow except for the light shimmery champagne shade from the Smashbox Exposure palette in the inner corners and under the brow bone. From the same palette, I took the 2 cool toned brown shades and used them to fill in my eyebrows. I finished the eyes with the Benefit Roller Lash mascara which is an awesome mascara.
Lastly, to finish the look I used the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious which is a stunning bright (almost neon) orange that I adore to wear throughout spring and summer.

So that is my super easy and quick makeup look I have worn today for Easter Sunday!

I hope you all have a fab Easter, with plenty of chocolate of course.

Springtime Makeup Look

It is such a gorgeous, sunny day today and so I decided to do quite a spring-time appropriate makeup look. It is very simple but I think it is really pretty for this time of year, so I thought I would share it with you incase you find some inspiration for your own makeup.

To start off, I used an oldie but a goodie; Mac Pro Longwear foundation in NC15. I used to use this back in the day and I absolutely loved it, so I thought I would give it another try and I am happy to say I do still really like it. It gives a light to medium finish that is very natural and has really good staying power. I then used my usual concealer duo, the Bobbi Brown corrector and NARS Radiant Creamy concealer under my eyes to cancel out my dark circles. I then powdered with the Maybelline Matte Maker to set the makeup.
To warm up my skin, I used my beloved Honey bronzer from the Body Shop and for a natural flush to my cheeks, I used the NARS blush in Deep Throat.
For the eyes I kept it super simple. I used the light, golden shimmer shadow from the NARS Ride up to the Moon palette all over my lid, and I used the same Body Shop bronzer in the crease. I then did a cat-eye flick using the L'Oreal Super Liner which is all kinds of awesome. To finish the eyes I used the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara and the two cool toned brown eyeshadows from the Smashbox Full Exposure palette for my eyebrows.
Lastly I used the Mac lipstick in Chatterbox which is so beautiful. It is an amazing bright but not too bright pink that I love for this time of year.

So that is my super simple Spring makeup look that I think is lovely for this time of year.

What is your favourite makeup look for Spring?

Love, Tanya ♥

I have been watching Tanya Burr for years now on Youtube. She seems so lovely and down to earth and her makeup tutorials are on point.
I was so excited when she announced she would be releasing her first book, Love, Tanya as with it being a mix of biography, beauty and fashion advice and tips on how to be happy and confident (plus a few baking recipes) I knew all ages could enjoy it.

After finishing it a few days ago, I am almost sad I have read it all because it was such a pleasure to read.
Not only is the design of the book beautiful, I could tell the book felt very personal and Tanya had spent a lot of time and hardwork on it.
My favourite chapters in particular were the pages about growing up and her childhood, her makeup essentials, her life advice and how to be happy and confident...oh and of course her baking recipes because I am such a foodie and every recipe in her book looks delicious.

It was such an easy read and one I think you could have on your dressing table or coffee table and pick up whenever you want some downtime. I think so many people would really love this book and I felt I have got to know Tanya better as a person.

Tanya's book is very inspirational and although I have never met Tanya, I think we should all feel proud for what she has achieved.

Mac Chatterbox | The Spring and Summer Lipstick

Recently I have been in love with Mac Chatterbox lipstick.
It is a beautiful bright pink that I think will be stunning for spring and summer, although I have been wearing it most days despite it still being winter.
It is an Amplified finish and so I find it to be very creamy and not drying in the slightest, yet it lasts really well throughout the day and almost leaves a pink stain on my lips.

I really cannot recommend this lipstick enough as it is such a nice colour and the formula is excellent. It is definitely one to be picking up as the spring and summer seasons approach!

Have you tried Mac Chatterbox?

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set | Worth the Hype

I feel very late on the bandwagon with this. The Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brush set are probably one of the most talked about things on the blogging world, and it is easy to see why. They are gorgeous!
I was very excited to try these as I had heard such good reviews about the set, and no surprises, these brushes have not been a disappointment.

You get 8 brushes in the set - four face brushes and four eyeshadow brushes.
All are impeccably soft and feel amazing quality. There is a mix of synthetic and natural brushes which means you get the best of both worlds. I haven't experienced any shedding since using these and I find I reach for all of them on a daily basis.
Not to mention they look absolutely beautiful on your dressing table and you get a cute leather pouch which I have found awesome for using as a makeup bag.

Although I love all of the brushes in the set, my favourites are the 102 Silk Finish brush which is amazing for applying foundation, the 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush which I love for lightly applying my bronzer and blush, the 110 Face Shape brush which is great at blending out concealer and the 227 Luxe Soft Definer brush which is lovely for blending out eyeshadow.

Overall I cannot recommend this brush set enough; all of the brushes are super soft and great quality and they look very stunning.

Let me know if you have tried the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set and what you think of the brushes!

Benefit Roller Lash Super-Curling and Lifting Mascara | Elle Magazine Sample

When I saw that the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara was available as a mini-sample size in this months issue of Elle, I was extremely excited and desperate to get my hands on it. I loved the Benefit They're Real mascara and the Bad-Gal Lash mascara, and so I had very high hopes for their new edition.

After a couple of weeks of testing it out, I have completely fallen in love with mascara, it is all kinds of awesome!
The wand is plastic and has a sort of scoop-shape to it which makes getting to every lash very easy. I find the wand really grips to every lash and pulls it up so you get a curled effect to your lashes. It is also very lengthening and separating which is my favourite kind of mascara. It lasts super well throughout the day and I find it really easy to remove at the end of the day with the L'Oreal Micellar Water.

Overall I am so impressed with the Roller Lash mascara as it curls, lengthens and separates my lashes really well.
I will definitely be purchasing the full size when it is released on the 1st March, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes long, curled lashes!

Weekend Makeup | Valentines

With it being Valentines Day, I thought I would share with you my easy weekend makeup look but with a slightly twist to make it more valentine-esque.

I started with concealing my dark circles with the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in the shade Vanilla and also on a couple of blemishes, and I then took the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in the lightest shade around my nose to conceal any redness.
For foundation, I took the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation as this gives a light finish which looks extremely natural.
To warm up my face, I took the Body Shop Honey bronzer and then for blush I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blusher in Radiant Magenta.
For the eyes I kept it really simple as I wanted most of the attention to be on the lips, so I took the Laguna bronzer from my NARS Guy Bourdin palette through the crease, and then I used the light champagne shade that is also in the palette on the lid to add some shimmer. I then took the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara on my lashes and to add some shape and definition to my brows, I used the Anastasia Brow Whiz in Medium Brown.
Lastly to complete this easy makeup look and to add a romantic feel to it, I took the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella and blended it out with my finger to make it slightly softer.

So that the super easy makeup I love wearing at the weekends, with an added pinky/red lip for Valentines day.

Whatever you are doing today, I hope you have a fab one!

January Favourites | Beauty

Now that January is over, I am set ready for Spring, even though we still have February to get through!
Nonetheless I have got quite a few favourites to share with you that have all stood out to me throughout January.

Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette
The Dolce Vita palette is a palette that is so raved about in the blogging and youtube community, I felt like I just had to try it. Aside from the seriously luxurious packaging, the eyeshadows are stunning and incredible quality. A full review will be coming soon, so watch out for that!

L'Oreal False Lash Flutter Butterfly Wing Effect Mascara
I have been really loving the L'Oreal Butterfly mascara as it gives amazing length and volume and really fans out my lashes. I find it very easy to apply and build up and it also lasts really well.

NARS Lip Pencils in Cruella and Descanso
I have done a full review here about the NARS lip pencil set that I received for Christmas, but the two that really stood out to me were Cruella, a velvet matte pencil that is a beautiful dark berry shade, and Descanso, a satin pencil that is an easy to wear pink nude shade. They are both seriously stunning and are amazing quality as they're super easy to apply and last really well throughout the day.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick
The Bobbi Brown foundation stick is really nice for touch-ups and on-the-go. I particularly like using it on 'no makeup' makeup days as I can just apply to any blemishes or redness and blend it out and it leaves a natural coverage that is quite flawless. The coverage is really good yet it feels and looks like skin. It is amazing!

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen
This is an old favourite of mine, and I decided to repurchase it again as my beloved NARS concealer ran out and I couldn't find the shade I wear anywhere. However, since using it again I have fallen back in love as it is so gorgeous at adding so much light to my skin. I like to use it over my Bobbi Brown corrector in a triangle shape under my eyes, and I find it brightens and lifts my whole face. It feels super light and is very easy to blend.

Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush and Eye Blender Brush
As you can see, I am having a bit of a moment with Bobbi Brown. After Anna raved about these two brushes, I just had to pick them up since they looked beautiful. The Full Coverage face brush is amazing at buffing in any foundation to achieve a flawless finish, and the Eye Blender brush is incredibly soft and fluffy, so I like to use it to set my concealer and to sweep it over my eyeshadow to blend out any harsh lines. Both brushes are amazing quality and wash really well, and neither have shed on me.

So they are my January favourites, and I think it has been a pretty good month beauty-wise as I have discovered some amazing products whilst rekindling my love for some others.

What are your January favourites?

Essie Sole Mate | The Winter Nail Polish

During Winter, I absolutely love wearing a dark nail polish. There is just something about it I love.
After spotting Essie Sole Mate in Boots the other day, I couldn't help but pick it up as it looked like a beautiful shade that was very fitting for this colder weather.
It is a gorgeous dark berry shade, perfect for Autumn and Winter. Like all Essie nail polishes I have tried, the formula is excellent, and the wide brush makes application super easy. After 2 coats of this polish, it  was fully opaque, and so far it is lasting very well on the nails.

Although I cannot wait for Spring and Summer, in the meantime I will be rocking this nail polish on my nails as I just think it is so pretty and you can't really go wrong with a dark colour for this time of year!

Let me know if you have tried Essie Sole Mate down below!

NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret | Review and Swatches

Left to right - Cruella, Iberico, Yu, Torres Del Paine, and Descanso

NARS is one of my favourite high-end makeup brands, and after hearing countless of good reviews about their lip pencils, I was extremely excited when I received the Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret for Christmas.

The set comes with 6 of their mini lip pencils, 3 are the satin lip pencils and 2 are the velvet matte lip pencils.
The shades the set comes with I think are gorgeous, with my particular favourites being Cruella, a velvet matte pencil which is a deep berry shade, and Descanso, a satin lip pencil which is a pink/nude shade. Iberico is the last velvet matte shade and is a gorgeous, bright orange/red which I wore on Christmas day as I thought it was very fitting for the festive season. Yu is one of the satin lip pencils, and is an extremely bright pink which I think is so striking, and particularly gorgeous for the spring/summer months. Torres Del Paine is the last satin pencil, and is a beautiful coral shade, again perfect for the spring/summer months.
I find the satin lip pencils to be very creamy and easy to apply. Even though they are glossy, they still last really well and feel very comfortable on the lips. The velvet matte pencils are, as the name suggests, matte, but they still feel very comfortable on the lips and last extremely well throughout the day. The bullet shape of the pencils make them so easy to apply, you don't need a lip liner, even with the dark and bright shades.
The set also comes in a beautiful acrylic box which is currently being used to store my nail polishes!
The giftset costs £32 and is exclusive to SpaceNK (fortunately the set is still in stock on the SpaceNK website, so I would grab one whilst you can!).

On the whole I think it is a beautiful set and is perfect if you are wanting to try the NARS lip pencils and were torn between the shades, or equally it is perfect if you already love the lip pencils and want to add more to your collection!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush | Radiant Magenta

So, it has been quite a while since I have posted on this blog, but instead of listing a load of reasons why I thought I would jump straight into the review of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Radiant Magenta.

I got this blush quite a few months ago but it is a firm staple in my makeup collection. Aside from the beautiful packaging, the blush itself is also gorgeous. Radiant Magenta is a mix of a rosy pink and a bronzy shade making it perfect for all year round. I find this blush looks really nice if I'm wearing a darker lip, or it equally looks nice with a natural makeup look because it really helps to warm up the face. The Hourglass blush does have a shimmer running through it, but once you apply it it gives your skin a glow-from-within which I think looks gorgeous. Not only is it easy to apply and blend, but it lasts really well and the colour is very pigmented.

On the whole I absolutely love this blush as it looks beautiful on the skin and goes with any makeup look. Let me know if you have any of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes because I am quite tempted to pick up another shade!
